April 7th, 2010:  Surf is in the 3-5 ft. range,  sunny, offshore winds water is 87! Starting to look like groundhogs day. Photos taken from La Purruja in Playa Avellans-crowd factor of a solid  2! WOW!   So nice to have a Lolas’ world famous beach bar right in front of you to keep hydrated on days like this….

Happy Easter from the Wave Hosue!-A perfect Easter present SURF-presently the surf is head high, clean, sunny & waters a steamy 87. Surf should be building today into tomorrow. A forecasted large south swell is now in our window-around April 10th should light up this area. We have a few spaces left. GET ON IT!

February 24, 25, 26 & 27: Surf has been in the small in the 2-3 foot range. Small waves & Negra not really doing it all that well the decision was made to explore a little. Mikey from the Wave House took the group to explore some lesser known, yet solid spots nearby. February 20th, 2010: 2-4 feet & playfull. Its Saturday, a few people more in the line-up than during the week. The winds are still offshore, ALL Day: its “Summertime.” Very HOT 95 degrees & water is in the 80s. Photo taken by Mikey at Playa Negra at mid to high tide: make this wave really rip able, less tubular! Super fun and long.

February 19, 2010-2-4 ft, Photos taken from Playa Avellanas this morning. Water is 80, Air 90, no rains. Playa Avellanas is 5 minutes from the Wave House & hosts a long stretch of beach breaks suitable to all levels of surfing. Right in of this wave is LOLA’s famous Beach Bar & Restaurant. They have the best Ahi and wasabi dish!

February 18th, 2010- Just another day in paradise! There is a swell running & should stick around all week. Nothing too large, just a bit over head on the sets. Super fun! The water temperature droped a bit and is a chilly 79 degrees! The air is still a HOT 90 degrese. The waer color is a translucent blue: Its like an aquarium surfing out there. Fish swimming below. Sunny skies & offshore winds. Did i say paradise already? Photos taken at Playa Negra this morning.

February 17, 2010- 2 – 4 ft with occasionally 5 ft. Offshore winds, no rains, extremely sunny & HOT. A steamy 98! Water Color a nice tropical BLUE. These photos were taken this morning of Playa Negra with a lower tide. A swell is running this week peaking out by Friday. Stay posted more photos to come.

Late January & Early February- There hasn’t been too much swell. In fact, it probably has been the flatest few weeks on record. Good thing that the beers are cold. The air temperare is a HOT 98 in the day. The Papagayo, offshore winds blowing and no rains. At least it is SUMMER! These photos were taken from early morning Feb 11th. Low tide with exposed rocks: No one is surfing! Waist to chest high.

Jan 10-Jan 20th- Surf has been no less than chest high with offshore winds. No clouds in the sky, no rain. It is summer (Costa Rican)! Air is in the 80’s; water in the mid 70’s. A few photos from this week.

This week I went down for a quick 6 night trip to met up with my super rad college friend Justin. It has been too long my friend. Surf was consistent- in the 2-4 foot range. Mostlyoffshore & sunny conditions prevailed. Here a few photos from this past week ending Dec 7th. The swell just started Sunday & I left Monday-go figure. Still fun!

Week in review, Nov 20th- The waves this week were in the 2-4 ft range, light offshore & sunny. The “summer” season has begun. Air temperature is in the low 90s during the days & in the low 70’s at night. No rain in sight. Pictured below is a little nugget from this week at Paya Negra.

Week in review ending Friday, October 23rd. The first part of the week was in the chest to head high range. The 2nd part of the week was characterized by heavy rain, dark skies, & subsequetnly merky waters. Surf subsided to small or flat by Thursday. A due south swell is on the horizon for next week! Week of October 15th-Surf was rideable all week averaging head high-4-5 feet. Clean sunny conditions in the morining giving way to late afternoon rain & sideshore winds. Water temp is 85, air temps are averageing 90 in the day and 80 at nights.

Monday October 5th-4-5 ft. Glassy conditions in the am giving way to some side shores in the afternoon. Early morining low tides have been a bit more hollow. Swell is starting to fade a little. Air temp is a humid 90, water in the mid 80’s. Photo is of one of the guests, Greg. Playa Negra cruising along.

Tuesday, September 29th– 2-4 ft. – offshore winds during the early morning hrs, before winds turn moderate onshore in the afternoons. Chest high n glassy. high tide 1:20pm low tide 6:25pm No people in town. Water temperture is 82! Pura Vida! Forecast for some long range south swells for the next 10 days!
